WHAT – Nassau County Legislator Carrié Solages (D - Lawrence) invites residents to join him at the Five Towns Community Center from 2 - 6 p.m. on Sunday, Aug. 15 for the return of Inwood Day.
Spearheaded in partnership with the Five Towns Community Center and Sasha Young, founder of Gammy’s Pantry, the annual celebration of the Inwood community is resuming after a one-year hiatus caused by the COVID-19 pandemic and will be dedicated to the memory of Pete Sobol, the tireless Inwood community advocate who passed away suddenly in February 2021.
Family-friendly activities during a day of food, fun and friendship are scheduled to include music, raffles, games, prizes, a bounce castle and vendors. In addition, COVID-19 testing will be available, and a COVID-19 vaccination pod will be open for attendees seeking an inoculation.
