(MINEOLA, N.Y.) - Nassau County Legislator Carrié Solages (D - Lawrence) has secured a $13,200 Community Revitalization Program (CRP) grant, which the Village of South Floral Park will use to support the South Floral Park Fire Department’s community service mission.
Village officials will utilize the funding, which was approved by the full Nassau County Legislature on Monday, Jan. 25, to purchase thermal imaging cameras for firefighters as well as chain kits, storage lockers, and other items related to the Fire Department’s delivery of emergency services.
“A rich tradition of volunteerism has sustained Nassau County fire departments for generations, and the Legislature is committed to doing all it can to support these agencies as they pursue a truly laudable mission,” Legislator Solages said. “I am proud to have secured this funding, which will help ensure that South Floral Park Fire Department are equipped with the tools they need to serve and protect the public as effectively and safely as possible.”
