(MINEOLA, N.Y.) - The following is a statement from Nassau County Legislator Carrié Solages (D – Lawrence) –
“We are all incredibly saddened by the senseless shootings in Valley Stream that claimed at least one life and injured multiple people on Monday evening. Our prayers are with the family members and loved ones of this horrific incident,” Nassau County Legislator Carrié Solages (D – Lawrence) said.
“In the aftermath of such a tragic event, concerns about safety are natural and understandable. To restore peace of mind in this community, I appreciate the Nassau County Police Department’s plans to increase patrols in the area where the shooting occurred, and I will be in touch with Commissioner Ryder to ensure that all appropriate resources are allocated to the community,” Legislator Solages said. “I will continue to closely monitor this case to ensure that a full investigation is conducted, and that justice is served, and I will never stop advocating for meaningful action and legislation to end the gun violence epidemic that continues to grip our nation.”
