(ELMONT, N.Y.) - Nassau County Legislator Carrié Solages (D - Inwood) joined local veterans, residents, students, law enforcement personnel, first responders and his colleagues in government in Elmont on Monday, May 29 for a Memorial Day parade and ceremony paying tribute to the men and women who lost their lives while serving in America’s armed forces.
“Memorial Day is a day of remembrance for our nation and a day of deep meaning and importance for families of all who sacrificed their lives for our great nation,” Legislator Solages said. “We must never forget those who fought to protect our freedoms, and it was a great privilege to join with the Elmont community to celebrate and honor the men and women who gave their lives so that we can all be free.”
