By law, certain products must be clearly labeled with an expiration date. The most common of these goods are perishable food items such as dairy products, vitamins, and beauty aides.
If you have purchased a product that has spoiled within the labeled expiration date, please contact the New York State Department of Agriculture and Markets, Division of Weights and Measures.
Stores are not allowed to sell products past their expiration dates. If you have purchased a product, either spoiled or unspoiled, that is past the labeled expiration date, please contact the Nassau County Office of Consumer Affairs, Division of Weights and Measures at 516-571-3200, or download and mail a Consumer Complaint Form.
For more information on the Weights and Measures Division of the Nassau County Office of Consumer Affairs, please visit Weights and Measures.
The Front Desk of Consumer Affairs will be closed from 12:30 pm to 2:30 pm on Wednesday, December 18, 2024 for Staff Development.
