Event will give residents an opportunity to ask questions and explore coverage options with certified enrollment specialists.
Nassau County Legislator Siela A. Bynoe (D-Westbury), in partnership with Planned Parenthood of Nassau County, will be holding an Affordable Care Act enrollment drive on Saturday, January 31, 2015 from 1 – 6 p.m. at “Yes We Can” Community Center, 141 Garden Street in Westbury.
This event is FREE and open to the public. The enrollment drive is part of a national effort to provide eligible, uninsured members of the community with the information and support they need to enroll in new, affordable health insurance plans.
Legislator Bynoe is an ardent advocate for providing healthcare education and resources to her constituents. “When we held these outreach events last year, over one hundred people enrolled,” emphasizes Legislator Bynoe. “That clearly demonstrates how essential it is to provide residents with the proper information so they can take affirmative steps to empower themselves as well as explore options to make the right healthcare choices for themselves and their loved ones.”
Attendees will have the opportunity to ask health coverage questions to trained specialists. Spanish and Creole translators will be there to assist attendees. The deadline to enroll is February 15, 2015.
