(ELMONT, N.Y.) – Nassau County Legislator Carrié Solages (D – Valley Stream) received the “Advocate for Justice” award from the Elmont Cultural Center during their inaugural gala in December – a “Roaring ‘20s” celebration which commemorated the organization’s 15th anniversary of service to the greater Elmont community. “I am truly gratified to have been recognized by the Elmont Cultural Center, which does so much to support community organizers and defend the rights of those who feel they do not have a voice in our society,” Legislator Solages said. “I thank Mimi Pierre Johnson for her continued leadership and feel humbled to have been recognized alongside so many outstanding advocates.”
