WHAT: In response to an overflow crowd at his Feb. 13 workshop, Nassau County Legislator Carrié Solages (D – Valley Stream) is once again partnering with assessment expert Jeff Gold, a former member of the Nassau County Board of Assessors and a former commissioner of the Assessment Review Commission (ARC), to host a second in-person assessment grievance workshop at the Elmont Memorial Library at 7 p.m. on Thursday, March 27.
During this workshop – Legislator Solages’ fourth of the 2025 grievance period - Gold will show taxpayers who disagree with their assessment how to navigate the online grievance process and dispute their assessment.
Since the conclusion of the previous workshop, the deadline to file an assessment grievance has been extended to Tuesday, April 1.
“The overwhelming response to our February workshop is not only a testament to Jeff Gold’s expertise in his field, but a sign that the residents of Nassau County are well aware that our assessment system is broken and badly out of balance after years of neglect by the Blakeman administration,” Legislator Solages said. “I am so thankful that Jeff is once again offering his services to the residents of the Third District, and I urge anyone who wants to protect themselves from being unjustly overtaxed to take advantage of this last chance to exercise their rights.”
