Nassau County Legislature Alternate Deputy Minority Leader Siela A. Bynoe (D – Westbury) and Legislator Scott M. Davis (D – Rockville Centre) joined the Hempstead community on Saturday, June 1 in celebrating former Hempstead Mayor James Garner at a farewell barbecue at Kennedy Memorial Park. The event was held as a tribute to Garner, who became New York State’s first Black mayor upon his election, prior to his relocating to North Carolina.
