(UNIONDALE, N.Y.) – Nassau County Legislator Olena Nicks (D – Uniondale) joined her colleagues in government for a celebration of outstanding community leaders at the Uniondale Public Library’s annual Women’s History Month concert on Saturday, March 22. During the event, Legislator Nicks presented Nassau County Legislature Citations to honorees Roxanne Steel, Elder Robin Y. Alford and Cynthia Lurry Ramsey-Carter in recognition of their outstanding contributions to the community and their commitment to helping others.
“Women’s History Month celebrations highlight our trailblazers, honor their achievements, and inspire the next generation of leaders to embrace the pursuit of women’s equality in American society,” Legislator Nicks, a former Trustee of the Uniondale Public Library, said. “Each of these phenomenal women have made a tremendously positive impact upon the Uniondale community and it was a privilege to join my colleagues in celebrating their achievements.”
