Bellmore Avenue Traffic Calming & Safety Improvements:
The Nassau County Department of Public Works Engineering Unit recently completed a comprehensive traffic safety study along Bellmore Avenue, responding to numerous requests from community members to evaluate and address safety concerns along the corridor. The study involved gathering and analyzing traffic data and has led to the development of several recommended alternatives aimed at improving safety for both pedestrians and vehicles. Please see the links below for a presentation of the study and the conceptual plans for improvements.

LD12BIOGRAPHY:
Michael is a Vice President of JP Morgan in its Corporate and Investment Bank segment with over 30 years of experience in the Finance Industry. As a long-serving volunteer with various autism organizations, Michael has been a fierce advocate in increasing awareness and supporting efforts to benefit children as well as their families affected by autism. His lobbying efforts in both Washington and Albany have helped lead to increased funding for research, family services and autism insurance reform, including passage of the ABLE Act in New York State.

Since autism is a life-long disorder, a big part of Michael’s autism advocacy is to help ensure that NY State agencies receive the appropriate funding to attract and retain support staff who will provide the hands-on help that adult children afflicted with autism will need when their parents are no longer there. Michael firmly believes that educating the public, particularly our youth, will foster a better understanding of autism so that those affected will be welcomed members of their community.

Among Michael’s autism related volunteerism, he serves on the JP Morgan Disability ENG-Access Ability as Co-Chair of the Mid-town Chapter as well as a board member of both Elija Programs and The Eden II Programs, where he serves as the Chair of the Board of Trustees. In a tribute to his volunteer efforts, Michael has received JP Morgan’s Good Works Volunteer of the Year Award and has also received Presidential recognition from former President Obama.

Additionally, Michael has been active in the Boy Scouts of America with Troop 123 in North Merrick and has held a number of leadership positions in the scouting arena.  He has been a Catechist at Curé of Ars Roman Catholic Church teaching their confirmation candidates as well.

Michael was first elected in 2023 to represent the 19th Legislative District. Due to redistricting, as of 2024, he now represents the 12th Legislative District, containing Wantagh, Bellmore, Seaford, North Wantagh, North Bellmore and parts of Merrick and North Merrick.

Michael lives in Merrick with his wife Alison and their two children.
