LD18Biography:
Samantha A. Goetz was elected to represent the people of Legislative District 18 to deliver the ethical leadership they deserve.

Samantha is a practicing attorney that has dedicated her career to public service.  Most recently, Samantha defended Nassau County in a range of litigation in the Appellate Courts. As a Deputy County Attorney, she would advocate on behalf of children in family law matters, represent the County is litigation in personal injury actions, and represent police and correction officers in litigation.

During her career, Samantha also served as an Assistant Town Attorney in Oyster Bay, where she litigated cases involving the Town, and drafted legislation to protect the suburban quality of life.

She began her career over a decade ago as Counsel to New York State Senator Carl L. Marcellino and was responsible for advising the Senator on legal implications of legislation, policies, actions, and administrative decisions. She also served as the Senator’s Community Representative, where she listened and engaged with residents about various issues impacting the region and its people.

Samantha’s vast experience at various levels of government has provided the foundation to allow her to effectively advocate on behalf of her constituents. She is committed to holding the line on taxes, protecting the safety of the residents, supporting law enforcement, she supports local control over local zoning matters, and advocating to protect our drinking water and our coastal regions against all environmental concerns.

Samantha is a proud graduate of New York Law School, SUNY Binghamton, and Saint Dominic’s High School. She is married to her husband Jonathan Scappaticci and they are raising their two daughters in Locust Valley.
