A delegation of lawmakers from Long Island, including Nassau County Legislator and Deputy Presiding Officer Howard Kopel, recently traveled to Israel to meet with local leaders, including Israeli President Isaac Herzog, and exchange ideas of government. Among the topics discussed were the commitment to the Jewish communities on Long Island and District 7, and the best ways to help the Jewish community.
“It was an honor to be part of the contingent making this trip to Israel and the opportunity to meet with President Herzog has been the highlight of my visit,” said Deputy Presiding Officer Kopel. “We spent some quality time together and had the chance to discuss important issues affecting the Jewish community here on Long Island, in his country, and throughout the world.”
