Presiding Officer Howard Kopel and Town of Hempstead Councilwoman Melissa Miller are sponsoring the NuHealth/NUMC Mobile Mammography Van to visit our neighborhood to provide breast cancer screenings for women over age forty.
The screening will include a breast examination by a nurse, a mammography and instructions for breast self-examination at home. Patients with insurance must bring a referral/prescription from their doctor (if patient does not bring a referral/prescription they cannot be seen). The mammography is free for uninsured women, based on eligibility guidelines.
