On Monday, January 10th, Howard Kopel was sworn in for a new term in the Nassau County Legislature for the 14th Legislative Session covering 2022-2023.
Former Congressman Peter King administered the oath of office to the Majority Caucus of the Legislature at an induction ceremony held in the Peter J. Schmitt Legislative Chamber.
At the reorganization meeting immediately following the induction ceremony, Kopel was once again named Deputy Presiding Officer. This will be his seventh two-year term in the Legislature.
“It is an honor to have been sworn in to serve another term as legislator for the 7th district and to be chosen again as Deputy Presiding Officer,” Legislator Kopel said. “I look forward to taking on the challenges that lie ahead over the next two years and remain committed to helping to keep our county fiscally sound and our quality-of-life strong and vibrant.”
