CITY OF LONG BEACH BUSES
Residents of the City of Long Beach, age 60 and over, may ride the local buses at half fare during non-rush hours and all day on weekends. An official identification card can be obtained at:

Food shopping transportation for seniors is available through the Glen Cove Senior Community Service Center.

LONG ISLAND RAILROAD
Senior citizens age 65 and over may use their Medicare card, driver’s license or birth certificate at any ticket office or aboard a train to receive half fare on the Long Island Railroad except for trains arriving in N.Y.C. between 6 a.m. and 10 a.m. on weekdays.
The railroad reserves the right to ask for additional personal identification or a signature sample. For information, call:

MEDICAL AND SPECIAL TRANSPORTATION
ABLE-RIDE/PARATRANSIT PROGRAM
In compliance with the Americans with Disabilities Act, the Nassau Inter County Express (NICE) system provides a shared ride, curb-to-curb ‘paratransit’ service for persons who have a physical or mental disability and are unable to use the fixed route bus service. Age, or inability to drive are not taken into consideration in making an eligibility determination. Reservations and advance notice are required. With funding from the OFFICE FOR THE AGING medical transportation is available for seniors living in the Long Beach area. Destinations are restricted to surrounding communities. Door-to-door service is provided if possible, and appointments must be made in advance. For further information and to register, call:

Medical transportation is available for seniors living in the Oyster Bay area with funding from the OFFICE FOR THE AGING. Door-to-door service is provided if possible, and appointments must be made at least one week in advance. For information, call:
