On August 5th, Legislator John Ferretti and the Nassau County Legislature approved two Community Revitalization Projects (CRPs) for the Island Trees Public School District and the East Meadow School District.
The first project, for the Island Trees Public School District, will authorize the County to enter into an inter-municipal agreement with the school district to procure and install an all-purpose athletic field on the Administration building grounds, including an irrigation system and water pump. The County will provide $55,000 in Capital Funds to the district for the purchase and installation of the field and irrigation system and water pump at Stephen E. Karopczyc Field.
The second project will benefit the East Meadow School District and Bowling Green Elementary School. The County will execute an agreement to purchase and install new playground equipment at the school and will provide $67,000 in Capital Funds to achieve this.
Following the vote, Legislator Ferretti provided this comment: “These projects benefit not just our districts aesthetically, but also the quality of life for our residents, in specific school children. By giving them an updated place to play and spend time, we are fostering a good community and a friendly environment.”
