NARCAN TRAINING COMMUNITY FORUM
YOU CAN SAVE A LOVED ONE FROM OVERDOSE!
TUESDAY, MARCH 5th – 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM
Brookside School – Board Room – 1260 Meadowbrook Rd., North Merrick
Every day, at least one Long Islander dies from an opiate overdose. And those are only the ones we know of – the ones directly caused by heroin or prescription painkillers such as Percoset or Oxycodone. If you don’t think it can happen to someone you care about, please think again. Overdoses can happen to anyone.
Nassau County Legislators Tom McKevitt and Steve Rhoads and Community Action for Social Justice are co-sponsoring this event with the Bellmore-Merrick School District, Bellmore-Merrick Community Coalition, the Community Parent Center and the Tempo Group to help residents learn what to do in case of an overdose and to teach them how to administer the life-saving, overdose-reversal agent called Naloxone, or NARCAN. NARCAN is the antidote to an opioid overdose and all attendees will receive a free NARCAN kit. If you have an expired NARCAN kit from a previous training, bring it and we’ll give you a new one.
SEATING IS LIMITED AND RESERVATIONS ARE REQUIRED
