Presiding Officer Norma L. Gonsalves (R-East Meadow, LD 13) attended Boy Scout Troop 285’s Eagle Court of Honor for Eagle Scout Christopher Ham which took place at St. Barnabas Church in Bellmore. Christopher is a resident of Bellmore. For his project, Christopher renovated, improved and organized a storage shed for Bethany House, a non-profit Homeless Shelter that has an outreach program for homeless women and children. Matthew also earned 63 Merit Badges and served his troop in a variety of leadership positions.
“Christopher has shown tremendous dedication and organizational skills to attain the rank of Eagle Scout,” said Presiding Officer Gonsalves. “His improvements to help organize a local non-profit organization’s shed will allow Bethany House to assist many families in need.”
