Levittown, NY- Nassau County Legislator John Ferretti joined with County Executive Bruce Blakeman and Hempstead Clerk Kate Murray to honor 91-year-old crossing guard Louise Kobs, who has retired after her 41 years of service to the Levittown School District. Louise was a fixture on the corner of Violet Lane and Orchid Road for the Northside Elementary School.
“Congratulations to Louise Kobs on her well-deserved retirement,” Legislator John Ferretti said. “Louise is an icon of Levittown, buying her first house here from the Levitts themselves. She has cared tremendously for the children she has helped cross the street and has watched them rise through the grades and become adults. We owe her our gratitude for constantly keeping out children safe going to school. Thank you for all you’ve done Louise, and best wishes!”
