Legislator Tom McKevitt, in conjunction with NuHealth/Nassau University Medical Center, is offering free flu shots for Nassau County Senior Citizens age 60 and up. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) highly recommends getting your flu shot this fall not only to reduce your risk from flu but also to help conserve potentially scarce health care resources.
There is no out-of-pocket expense for the flu shots. Please bring a driver’s license or other form of ID for proof of Nassau County residency. Reservations are required to receive a flu shot. Please contact Legislator McKevitt’s office at 516-571-6213 to make a reservation.
COVID-19 Protocol for getting your flu shot: Limit of 20 people in room and no waiting inside venue. All residents getting their flu shots MUST: Keep 6 feet social distance, wear a facial mask, bring own pen, have alcohol sanitizers available, get a temperature check upon entry, and fill out a COVID-19 checklist to assess travel history and symptoms.
