[ARCHIVED] LEGISLATOR FERRETTI TO HOST FIRST EVER COMMUNITY PELOTON RIDE AMID COVID-19 OUTBREAK

LD15 Ferretti Peleton Ride PR

Since the COVID-19 pandemic began in Nassau County, residents have been asked to stay in their homes; venturing outside for essential travel like trips to the supermarket; or to perform essential services that can’t be performed at home. When residents do leave the house, they have to social distance and wear protective gear.

Many people have been leaving the house to get much needed exercise to try and stay physically and mentally healthy.

To that end, On Saturday, April 11th, Nassau County Legislator John Ferretti will host the County’s first ever Community Peloton Ride to provide residents in the County with much needed exercise, while also maintaining the required social distancing. The program is available for everyone with a Peloton.

Residents can sign on at 11 AM, follow “JohnFerretti” on Peloton, and participate in instructor Ally Love’s “On Demand” 20-minute beginner ride from 12/27/2019. Residents will be able to see who is on, and use Peloton’s “High Five” feature to interact with their neighbors throughout the county.

“With social distancing measures in place, I was looking for ways to bring the community together for a few minutes of fun and exercise,” Legislator Ferretti said. “I encourage everyone to hop on their Peloton, “High Five” residents from throughout the county, and forget about everything happening in the news to focus on their mental and physical health; at least for a little bit.”
