Nassau County Legislator John R. Ferretti, Jr and members of the County Legislature unanimously approved the development plan agreement between RXR and Brooklyn Sports and Entertainment (BSE) as the exclusive developers of the Nassau Hub property in Uniondale.
“Nassau County residents have been waiting a long time for development at the HUB,” Legislator Ferretti said. “This agreement between RXR and BSE is the best chance we have right now of transforming the empty current site into something Nassau residents want. The Legislature will be keeping its eye on this project to make sure the project stays in the County’s best interests.”
The development plan agreement provides that the approval of the Nassau County Legislature is required prior to commencement of any construction at the Coliseum site, allowing the county to maintain a level of control over the development of the property. It is expected that the developers will now work with the Town of Hempstead, which controls the zoning of the property, before returning to the county for approvals.
