In a bi-partisan effort, Nassau County Preceding Officer Norma Gonsalves helped secure funding for Nassau County’s Clean and Seed Program. With the funding, Nassau County will be able to help nearly 14,000 households who had their property destroyed by sewage and other pollutants during Superstorm Sandy.

The Clean and Seed Program will include an initial assessment of a property, the removal and replacement of top soil, lawn seeding and the cleaning of permanent structures around the home.”

“This is one more way that we can help to return the lives of Sandy victims to normal,” said Presiding Officer Gonsalves. “I’m pleased that we can implement this program at the optimal time for the lawns to flourish.”
