Presiding Officer Norma L. Gonsalves attended Boy Scout Troop 362’s Eagle Court of Honor for Eagle Scout Christopher Egan and Eagle Scout Zachary Ludewig at St. Raphael’s Church, East Meadow. For his project Christopher, a resident of Dix Hills, helped construct two greenhouses at Island Harvest’s Hauppauge facility. The greenhouses were used during the winter months to grow fresh vegetables for their inventory. For his project Zachary, a resident of East Meadow, created a fire safety movie for kids that visit the Nassau County Fire Museum in Garden City. This project combined the two biggest parts of his life, the fire department and the boy scouts.
“These young men have done extraordinary work for their community,” said Presiding Officer Gonsalves. “They serve as terrific role models in their troop and have a bright future ahead of them.”
