PUBLIC HEARING NOTICE

Nassau County 2024 - 2029 Child and Family Services Plan (CFSP)

Date and time: November 15, 2024 

Location: 60 Charles Lindbergh Blvd., Uniondale, NY, 11553 Room 101 A and B; Enter by the south public entrance

The Child and Family Services Plan (CFSP) is Nassau’s plan for the provision of services to the families, children and adults of the County. Services are administered by the Nassau County Department of Social Services; the Department of Human Services, Office of Youth Services; and the Probation Department.  

The goal of the public hearing is to inform the community of the services available in Nassau County and how they can be accessed. The hearing allows the public to raise issues and offer ways to improve service delivery. Comments and issues raised at the hearing will be incorporated into the planning process.  

Services to be addressed at the Public Hearing include the following:

• 2:00pm – 2:10pm: Welcome and Introductions        
• 2:10pm – 2:20pm: Overview of the CFSP Planning Process           
• 2:20pm – 2:35pm: Youth and Young Adult and Runaway/Homeless Youth  
• 2:35pm – 2:50pm:  Child Care Assistance Program
• 2:50pm – 3:20pm: Welfare of Children and Youth: Child Protective Services, Preventive Services, Foster Care and Adoption, Juvenile Justice and PINS Diversion Services / Placement
• 3:20 – 3:35 Sexually Exploited and Trafficked Youth
• 3:35 – 3:45 Adult Protective Services
• 3:45 pm – 4:15 pm: Q&A and Conclusion
