Day Care
Through the Department of Social Services, childcare is provided not only to those on Temporary Assistance, but also to those working families who meet income guidelines for subsidies. Various kinds of childcare are available throughout Nassau County. To obtain more information call the Day Care New Applications unit at 516-227-7976.
To obtain childcare resource and referral information or a list of day care providers, please contact the Child Care Council of Nassau County. They can be reached by telephone at: 516-358-9250. The Child Care Assistance Program (CCAP) recently announced the launch of the CCAP Eligibility Questionnaire to allow parents and caretakers to answer a few questions to see if they are eligible for CCAP.
You can access the questionnaire directly by going to the OCFS CCAP website at: https://ocfs.ny.gov/programs/childcare/ccap/ and click on “Do I qualify for CCAP”.

If you are using a non-OCFS certified provider, please call or contact Child Care Council of Nassau County at 516-358-9250 to enroll your provider as a legally exempt provider.
