[ARCHIVED] LEGISLATURE UNANIMOUSLY PASSES RELIEF FOR SANDY VICTIMS

LD19 Pass Relief for Sandy

The Nassau County Legislature unanimously passed legislation at the January 27th Legislative Meeting in Mineola that will continue to support those still rebuilding their homes in the aftermath of Hurricane Sandy.

The measure extended the waiver for all County permit fees relating to the rebuilding of homes damaged by Hurricane Sandy. Additionally, fees for the recording of SBA and other Sandy reconstruction loan documents will continue to be waived.

After the passage of the legislation, County Legislators stated: “Over eight years after Sandy, hundreds of families are still struggling to recover, and these fee waivers will help to ease their financial burden. Albany may have forgotten about Sandy victims, but we will not.”
