(MANHASSET, N.Y.) - Nassau County Legislator Ellen W. Birnbaum attended the retirement walkout ceremony for Inspector Michael Holfester, Commanding Officer of the Nassau County Police Department’s Sixth Precinct, on Thursday, March 25, where she thanked the retiring Inspector for his dedication to serving the community (left). Following the ceremony, she had the opportunity to congratulate incoming Commanding Officer, Inspector Harun “Hodge” Begis on ascending to the helm of the Sixth Precinct (right).

“It was truly a pleasure to witness such an outpouring of support and appreciation for Inspector Holfester - a man whose leadership placed the re-established Sixth Precinct on track to optimally serve and protect the public,’ Legislator Birnbaum said. “I congratulate him for a job well done and look forward to working closely with incoming Inspector Begis in the months and years ahead.”
