(OYSTER BAY, N.Y.) - To help equip residents to protect themselves from COVID-19 during the winter months, Nassau County Legislator Joshua Lafazan (Woodbury) partnered with dozens of young local volunteers to gather personal protective equipment (PPE) and deliver them to the Oyster Bay Enrichment Center on Friday, Dec. 11.
“Our seniors are amongst the most vulnerable citizens when it comes to COVID-19,” Legislator Lafazan said. “Wearing appropriate personal protective equipment is a critical component of preventing the spread and protecting senior citizens, and I was proud to partner with these young volunteers to deliver this donation of PPE the Oyster Bay Enrichment Center.”
“I am so impressed with the number of students who participated in the PPE giveaway,” Mary Frignani, Director of the Oyster Bay Life Enrichment Center Program, said. “I was really surprised when I walked out the front door to see so many young people gathered to deliver masks and other supplies. This gift from the students will help in making the holidays easier for our senior citizens.”
