WHAT: Nassau County Legislator Joshua Lafazan (Woodbury) is partnering with CVS Pharmacy to host a mobile flu shot clinic at the Woodbury Jewish Center on Thursday, Oct. 1. Amidst the COVID-19 pandemic, health experts say it is more than ever it is important to reduce the spread of respiratory illnesses like the flu and are encouraging residents to get their flu shot as peak influenza season approaches.
“Influenza is a deadly virus that claims thousands of lives each year. As we enter the autumn months and approach the flu season, I am committed to doing all I can to ensure residents are protected - especially during the COVID-19 pandemic,” Legislator Lafazan said. “I’m proud to partner with CVS Pharmacy and the Woodbury Jewish Center to provide this service to Nassau County residents through our mobile flu shot clinic.”
“Woodbury Jewish Center is excited to partner once again with pragmatic leaders like Josh Lafazan, with the vision to provide the community with much needed health and safety services in these uncertain times,” said Woodbury Jewish Center President Ellen Feit. “Flu shots, as well as food collection and distribution for those most needy during the concurrent pandemic and recent superstorms and power outages, are some of the multiple offerings WJC and Mr. Lafazan have coordinated this year, with more to come, for the benefit of not only our local Syosset/Woodbury residents, but encompassing the larger community of Long Island.”
