(WESTBURY, N.Y) - To show appreciation for all they are doing to help overcome the COVID-19 pandemic in Nassau County, Legislator Joshua Lafazan (Woodbury) partnered with Home Depot to provide Nassau County fire marshals with personal protective equipment (PPE) kits on Wednesday, June 10.
“Throughout the COVID-19 pandemic, Home Depot has donated more than 1,000 care packages to first responders, frontline workers, and community organizations,” Legislator Lafazan said. “I’m thrilled to once again partner with Syosset Home Depot to support our men and women in the fire service, who day in and day out exceed their call to duty.”
During the drop-off, Home Depot also donated PPE kits to Nassau County’s EMS office and Nassau County’s Police Arson - Bomb Squad to ensure they too were adequately equipped with these lifesaving supplies.
“Building strong relationships and giving back are core values of The Home Depot. It was an honor and privilege to organize PPE kits for all our fire marshals within the County,” Michael Gallo, Community Relations representative for The Home Depot, said.
“We thank our partners in safety at The Home Depot for their generous donation of PPE necessary to keep our staff at the Nassau County Fire Marshal’s Office, Nassau County Fire Communications, the Nassau County Fire Police EMS Academy and the Nassau County Police Department Arson Bomb Squad safe as we continue to serve the public and support Nassau County’s fire service,” Michael F. Uttaro, Assistant Chief Fire Marshal, said.
