Mineola, NY - Due to a blockage in a sewer main, untreated sewage overflowed into a storm drain and discharged into Hempstead Harbor. As a result, the Nassau County Department of Health has closed the following four beaches as a precaution:
North Hempstead Beach Park, Port Washington
Tappen Beach, Glenwood Landing
Morgan Beach, Glen Cove
Sea Cliff Village Beach, Sea Cliff
These beaches will remain closed until the Department of Health completes and reviews all beach water quality sampling.
