PRESIDING OFFICER NICOLELLO HONORS
NEW TROOP 201 EAGLE SCOUTS
Daniel Russo, Anthony Giunta, Brandon Aguiar, and Christopher Soo of Boy Scout Troop 201 were recently recognized at an Eagle Court of Honor ceremony in honor of achieving the rank of Eagle Scout. Daniel, Anthony, Brandon, and Christopher’s achievements are the culmination of years of commitment, effort and preparation.
Daniel’s Eagle Scout project consisted of beautifying and improving the grounds of the American Legion Post 144 Hall. Daniel and the Scouts in his Troop installed retaining block planters around the Hall’s flagpole and safety tape on the entrance stairway. The Scouts also removed the Hall’s abandoned bocce ball court and horseshoe pits.
Anthony’s Eagle Scout project helped to beautify the entrance of the Town of North Hempstead’s Animal Shelter. Alex and the Scout volunteers cleared vegetation in overgrown areas and planted thirty-five trees and shrubs.
Brandon’s Eagle Scout project improved the Herricks Community Center Alzheimer’s Garden. The Troop power-washed the courtyard and installed pergola and wheelchair accessible planter boxes.
Christopher’s Eagle Scout Project restored the Herrick’s High School Student Garden/Outdoor Classroom. Overgrown vegetation was removed, and eighty feet of fencing and a new stone pathway were installed.
