Statement from Nassau County Legislator Siela A. Bynoe in Support of March Against Anti-Semitism
(MINEOLA, N.Y.) - Thousands of Long Islanders, including religious leaders, elected officials and citizens, joined forces for the Long Island March Against Anti-Semitism on Sunday, Jan. 12. The march was one of the bi-county Task Force Against Anti-Semitism and Symbols of Hate’s inaugural initiatives.
“By uniting to denounce the hateful, biased acts that have shocked and saddened so many of us in recent months, Nassau County residents took the essential first steps toward a more inclusive future,” Nassau County Legislator Siela A. Bynoe (D - Westbury) said. “I am hopeful that people seeking a more egalitarian future will use the energy of the March Against Anti-Semitism to propel their advocacy for the changes we must make so that our diversity is celebrated as an asset and hatred in all its forms is always exposed and confronted.”
