Legislator Birnbaum Welcomes Members of The Transition Network to Theodore Roosevelt Executive & Legislative Building
(MINEOLA, N.Y.) - Nassau County Legislator Ellen W. Birnbaum (D - Great Neck) welcomed members of The Transition Network (TTN) - an organization of women over 50 to the Theodore Roosevelt Executive and Legislative Building on Wednesday, Nov. 13.
During their visit, the group of approximately 18 retired women learned about the history of Nassau County and the County Legislature during a PowerPoint presentation; toured the Legislature building and learned about its historic elements; and met with County Executive
Laura Curran in the Building’s Ceremonial Chamber. The group also had the opportunity to observe that day’s meeting of the Nassau County Legislature.
Geri Kaufman, a North Hills resident who arranged this visit, said: “The Transition Network provides outstanding opportunities for retired women over the age of 50 to explore this important chapter of their lives through unique networking, educational and social opportunities. I am grateful to my Legislator, Ellen Birnbaum, for organizing this informative visit.”
“I was delighted to welcome these ladies to the Theodore Roosevelt Executive & Legislative Building for a tour and an up-close look at the workings of our county’s government,”
Legislator Birnbaum said.
