Nassau County Legislators Laura Schaefer and Vincent Muscarella are hosting two Senior Scam Prevention Community Forums along with representatives from the Nassau County Police Department to help prevent senior citizens from becoming another scam victim.
Attendees will learn about recent scams that specifically target senior citizens, such as people calling as the IRS and saying you owe them money or telling you a relative is either hurt or in trouble with the law and needs money quickly.
After a presentation, members of the NCPD will be on hand to answer questions and offer tips to help reduce the chances of being taken advantage of by scammers and becoming their next victim.
