Presents Check for CRP Money for Police Supplies

Malverne, NY— On September 20th, Nassau County Legislator Bill Gaylor joined with Malverne and local elected leaders, community members and police officials for the opening and dedication of the new Malverne Police Department Headquarters building.

At the opening, Legislator Gaylor presented a check to Village of Malverne Mayor Tim Sullivan for $330,000 of CRP (Community Revitalization Project) grant money that has been earmarked for police supplies and initiatives.

The money includes: $130,000 for a communications tower at the new headquarters which will also service the village and Malverne School District; $45,000 for upgrades to the village’s license plate readers; and $155,000 for surveillance and access control equipment for the police headquarters.

“Our police put their lives on the line every day, and anything I can do to help them with their job is an easy ‘yes’ vote,” Legislator Gaylor said. “Thank you to all our police and officials who helped make this new headquarters happen. I was very happy to present this CRP grant check to the village to help the police do their jobs and make fighting crime more efficient.”
