You can save the life of a loved one from overdose!
Nassau County has been addressing the opioid crisis on multiple fronts, one of them is educating its residents on the use of Naloxone, also known by the trade name NARCAN. Nassau County Legislators Rose Marie Walker and Laura Schaefer are co-sponsoring this event along with the Nassau County Office of Mental Health, Chemical Dependency and Developmental Disabilities of to help residents learn what to do in case of an overdose and to teach them how to administer the life-saving, overdose-reversal agent NARCAN. NARCAN is the antidote to an opioid overdose and all attendees will receive a free kit.
Our free NARCAN Training/Overdose Prevention Workshop also offers community resources, speakers and information on the latest treatment approaches. Despite the many obstacles that persist our primary goal is to help prevent drug related deaths and provide individuals in need with a second chance at recovery, improved health, and a better quality of life.
