(GREAT NECK and NEW HYDE PARK, N.Y.) – Nassau County Legislator Ellen W. Birnbaum (D – Great Neck)’s annual-back-to-school supply drive for elementary school children is expanding its reach in the community with two new drop-off locations.
The new locations are: the main branch of the Great Neck Library, 159 Bayview Ave., Great Neck, N.Y. 11023 and the Parkville branch of the Great Neck Library, 10 Campbell St., New Hyde Park, N.Y. 11040. During normal library hours, donors may drop off new and unused school supplies such as: backpacks, notebooks, No. 2 pencils, colored pencils, colored markers, crayons, and glue sticks.
Donors can also continue to make contributions on weekdays from 8 a.m. - 3 p.m. at the Manhasset-Lakeville Water-Fire District Office, 170 East Shore Road, Great Neck, N.Y. 11021. Donations at all three locations must be received by Tuesday, Aug. 27.
“I am delighted that the Great Neck Library has joined the Manhasset-Lakeville Water-Fire District as partners in my office’s annual school supply drive,” Legislator Birnbaum said. “With the support of these key partners, we will be able to reach more members of our generous community and make this year’s efforts more impactful than ever.”
School supplies can be picked up, first-come, first-served, from 6 - 7 p.m. on Wednesday, Aug. 28 at the Manhasset-Lakeville Fire Department, Company No. 2, located at 2 Community Drive East, Manhasset, N.Y. 11030. The facility is located behind Macy’s off of Community Drive.
