WHAT: On Monday, April 29, Nassau County Executive Laura Curran will sign into law two pieces of legislation initiated by Legislator Joshua Lafazan (Woodbury) that comprise his “Dignity for our Heroes” initiatives. The bills, which were unanimously ratified by the Nassau County Legislature on Monday, April 22, will create the Nassau County Commission on Ending Veteran Homelessness and update the County’s Human Rights Law to explicitly prohibit discrimination against veterans in housing and employment.
