Mineola, NY – Due to heavy rainfall, the NassauCounty Department of Health is issuing an advisory against bathing at 19beaches, effective today, September 3, 2017. This advisory is issued as aprecautionary measure for beaches known to be impacted by stormwater runoffcaused by heavy rainfall. Stormwater runoff can impact bathing waterquality by elevating bacteria levels, which may cause exceedances of the NewYork State standard for bathing water quality.
