(MINEOLA, NY) – Nassau County Legislator Ellen W. Birnbaum (D-Great Neck) recently attended the Denton Avenue Elementary School Heritage Week Celebration. The event celebrated the rich diversity of cultures in the community with workshops and performances hosted by parents and staff. The legislator participated in workshops about Chinese yo-yos, Purim crafts and foods and Persian dancing. “This annual event is a wonderful way to bring students and their families together to celebrate their cultures with their teachers and peers,” said Legislator Birnbaum.
