Nassau County Legislators Rose Marie Walker and Laura Schaefer are urging all parents and caregivers to have their children’s car seats inspected on Monday, June 6th at Bethpage Community Park, located at 1001 Stewart Avenue in Bethpage. A Nassau County Traffic Safety Coordinator will inspect car seats and provide free hands-on advice from 9:00am to 12:00pm.
Legislator Walker stated, “We must do all we can to protect our children when on the road. The proper installation of a child’s car seat is critical to ensuring safety in a vehicle. Take this opportunity to let a professional make sure your child seat is safely installed in your vehicle.”
Legislator Schaefer said, “Nothing is more important to a parent than their children’s safety. Car seats are vital safety tools, but they must be properly installed to offer the maximum protection to children in an accident. This program gives parents the opportunity to have their child’s car seat inspected and learn tips from trained safety inspectors about steps they can take to protect their children.”
