(MINEOLA, NY) – Nassau County Legislator Ellen W. Birnbaum (D-Great Neck) was proud to honor Leslie House for her outstanding work with the Town of North Hempstead Housing Authority.On Monday, February 24, 2014, in Mineola, the Nassau County Legislature held a special presentation recognizing February as African American History Month.
For the last three years, House has been a North Hempstead Housing Authority board member and tenant representative for LP properties, which includes: Spinney Hill Homes, Pond View Homes, Harbor Homes and Laurel Homes. She is responsible for running all parties and events for the LP tenants, and helps to resolve all tenant issues. House enjoys her role to the fullest, and has great relationships with all the LP tenants. She has also been a tenant representative for senior buildings for 4 years.
House has additionally volunteered for Manhasset/Great Neck Economic Opportunity Council Inc. (EOC) summer programs, after school programs and Girl Scouts.
