On January 6th, in a ceremony at the Theodore Roosevelt Executive & Legislative Building in Mineola, Legislator Richard J. Nicolello was sworn into office as the Deputy Presiding Officer of the Tenth Term of the Nassau County Legislature by the Honorable Joseph N. Mondello, Chairman of the Nassau County Republican Committee.
Legislator Nicolello stated, “I thank the residents of the 9th L.D. for the great honor and privilege of serving as your Legislator. The next two years will be a time of great challenges for Nassau County. We must continue the work of reforming county government to provide quality services in the most efficient and effective manner possible. We have accomplished much in the last several years, but much remains to be done, including fixing the assessment system and finding new and innovative ways to reduce spending.”
At the organizational meeting of the Legislature, Legislator Nicolello was appointed the Chair of the Finance Committee, Vice-Chair of the Rules Committee, and a member of the Budget Review, Planning, Development & the Environment, and Economic & Community Development & Labor Committees.
Legislator Nicolello is proud to represent the 9th Legislative District, which includes Manhasset, Mineola, Floral Park Centre, Garden City Park, Williston Park, East Williston, and portions of Albertson, Floral Park, New Hyde Park, Roslyn Estates, and Roslyn Heights.
