(MINEOLA, NY) – The Town of North Hempstead will be receiving funding from Nassau County as part of a Community Revitalization Project (“CRP”) for the construction of a comfort station at the Town’s Manhasset Valley Park. The request for funds was unanimously approved during a full meeting of the Legislature. Legislator Ellen W. Birnbaum (D-Great Neck) worked tirelessly with the Nassau County Executive’s office, Deputy Presiding Officer Richard Nicolello and Town of North Hempstead Councilwoman Anna Kaplan to see that this project received funding through an inter-municipal agreement between Nassau County and the Town of North Hempstead.
“I am so pleased that I was able to assist the Town of North Hempstead in securing funds for the construction of much needed restrooms at Manhasset Valley Park. The new athletic fields at this beautiful park are being frequented by Great Neck and Manhasset residents who enjoy playing soccer and softball. Consequently, visitors are staying for longer periods of time and adequate restrooms are more important than ever” said Legislator Birnbaum.
