The Manhasset-Lakeville Fire District will be receiving funding from Nassau County as part of a Community Revitalization Project (“CRP”) to procure portable radios for communication between emergency response personnel. The request for funding was unanimously approved at a full meeting of the Legislature. Legislator Ellen W. Birnbaum (D-Great Neck) worked tirelessly with the Nassau County Executive’s office and the Manhasset-Lakeville Fire District to see that this project received funding through an inter-municipal agreement between Nassau County and the Manhasset-Lakeville Fire District. Funding for this project will help to ensure the safety of all the people that the Fire District serves.
“Helping to keep our community safe is one of the most important parts of my job. I am glad that the Manhasset-Lakeville Fire District will be receiving funds which will be used to equip their firefighters with portable radios so that they can quickly communicate during emergency situations” said Legislator Birnbaum.
