Mineola, NY – Nassau County has once again solidified its position as one of the healthiest counties in the U.S., according to this year's County Health Rankings & Roadmaps report.
The report by the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation and the University of Wisconsin Population Health Institute compares every county across the country and ranks them according to population health, well-being, and community conditions. This year, Nassau County again ranked well above national and state averages in all health rankings categories, exemplifying its dedication to public health excellence.
The 2025 results demonstrate our county's ongoing commitment to building a healthy community, providing access to the highest level of healthcare, and improving its residents' overall quality of life.
“We are incredibly proud that Nassau County was the top county in New York for Community Conditions and in the top 3% in the U.S. for Population Health and Well-being,” said Nassau County Executive Bruce Blakeman. “The safety and well-being of our residents remains my administration’s top priority, and we will continue working tirelessly to ensure that every resident has access to the resources they need to lead a safe, healthy, and fulfilling life here in Nassau County.”
"This is a testament to the ongoing commitment of our Nassau County Department of Health, in collaboration with many organizations within the county, including our nationally recognized hospitals, medical providers, community-based organizations, government agencies, schools, and county residents working together to ensure the highest health outcomes for our residents," added Dr. Irina Gelman, Nassau County Commissioner of Health. "Although these statistics continue to show excellence in health, the Department is steadfast in its mission to address health disparities, as well as promote and protect the health of all our residents."
