(ELMONT and VALLEY STREAM, N.Y.) – Nassau County Legislator Carrié Solages (D – Valley Stream) observed Veterans Day across the Third Legislative District in Elmont and Valley Stream on Monday, Nov. 11 by attending parades and ceremonies hosted by Elmont American Legion Post 1033 and the Incorporated Village of Valley Stream.
“The amount of courage it takes to enlist in the armed forces and put one’s life on the line in service to our nation is remarkable, and the bravery demonstrated by veterans and active-duty service members is something we should all give thanks for at every opportunity,” Legislator Solages said. “It was truly inspiring to witness the appreciation and reverence that was demonstrated throughout the Third District this Veterans Day – may this spirit of gratitude carry us to greater heights all throughout the year.”
